How to test your
Microphone using Windows XP
|
There are 7 steps to this test.
Make sure you scroll down to see all images and directions. Before you
get started make sure your mic is plugged into the microphone input
(not "line in"). If you have a newer computer, this input will
most likely be color coded "pink." Note: If using a headset
microphone, you may need to unplug your computer's internal or external
speakers and plug in the green headset jack. If you are using a
portable computer with an external microphone, do the same as
above. Other things to check: Make sure your microphone is
turned on (some have on/off switches) and your speakers are turned on
(unless you are using a headset) and set to an audible level and
plugged into the correct output jack on the sound card. Please
see the documentation that came with your computer for help with
properly plugging in your mic and speakers.
